Name |
LabImage GEA (Gel Electrophoresis Analyzer) |
Description |
LabImage GEA was developed based on LabImage 1D and offers a standard evaluation process for finished gels on a specific imager. The software refers to predefined gel layouts and evaluates them. |
Status/Client |
The software was developed for a German company. Due to the takeover of the company, the application did not come into the market. |
Field of Application |
The detection method was used, for example, to detect MRSA bacterias through to malaria / HIV. Emphasis was placed on a robust methodology. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a group of gram-positive bacteria that are genetically distinct from other strains of Staphylococcus aureus. MRSA is responsible for several difficult-to-treat infections in humans. It caused more than 100000 deaths attributable to antimicrobial resistance in 2019. |
What is so special? |
The software was one of the first solutions that delivered firmly defined processes using an imager as a complete system. |
Involved devices /imagers |
The software was developed in close coordination with a gel imager which was custom made for that type of application. |
